I was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma. I didn't have many symptoms, nothing I would have thought were cancer - itchy skin and feeling tired, who'd get cancer from that? My doctor did.
The doctors were understanding of how scary it can be and the nurses were amazing. So compassionate, warm and easy to talk to. There was always someone available to talk to, even if it was just to say "I'm scared."
Some of the treatments were done during that awful winter we had a couple years back. The hospital was snowed in and I couldn't get home. Since I didn't have enough clothes with me, the staff washed what I had for me and let me borrow a computer from their library so I could skype with my family.
